Nintendo has begun leaking details about its mysterious new playtest. The playtest, which remains unnamed, is set to start on October 23rd at 9 PM ET and run through November 5th at 8 PM ET. Participants were informed about the specifics of the test through an updated section on Nintendo’s official website.

Despite Nintendo’s request for confidentiality, no NDA was signed by participants, leading to inevitable leaks. Screenshots and other information about the playtest have surfaced online, revealing intriguing details about Nintendo’s latest project. The playtest software, which requires 2.2GB of free space, hints at Nintendo entering the MMO (massively multiplayer online) gaming space.

The game aims to work collaboratively to develop a massive, expansive planet. Players will explore new lands, encounter diverse enemies, gather resources, and utilize “Beacons” to create zones that they can personally develop.

These personalized Beacon zones are unique to each player, allowing them to move, lift, or edit items only within their own zones. A social hub named “Dev Core” will serve as a center for players to level up, obtain items, and interact with others. A notable feature of the game is the emphasis on user-generated content (UGC).

Before unlocking the ability to create and share custom content, players must pass an in-game test that promotes respectful communication. The game shares elements with other family-friendly MMOs but does not feature recognizable Nintendo characters. This raises speculation that the playtest might be for an entirely new intellectual property or a new facet of an existing franchise.

While the specifics of the game and its final form remain speculative, one thing is clear: Nintendo is venturing into new territory with this playtest. As leaks continue to emerge, fans and industry watchers are eager to learn more about this exciting project. Stay tuned for further updates as more information becomes available.
