Genki claims to have eight accessories ready for the Switch 2’s release, which they expect to happen in April 2025. This suggests that an official announcement from Nintendo could be coming very soon.

Magnetic Joy-Cons and larger size
In addition to the leak from Genki, journalists at CES also spotted a life-sized model of the Switch 2 behind closed doors. They were able to hold the model and take pictures, confirming the larger size and the ability to decouple the Joy-Cons sideways.

Another leak from consultant Laura Kate Dale has revealed that the Switch 2 will require a new charger due to voltage differences. The input voltage on the Switch 2 dock is listed as 20V, compared to 15V on the original Switch dock. The Switch 2 is expected to ship with a new 60W charger.
With so many leaks coming out, it seems that Nintendo’s normally tight security has been breached. Fans are eagerly waiting for an official announcement from the company, which could come as early as this week.
