There is an organization that aims to help people who have been in unfortunate situations or have had personal tragedies in the form of loosing there homes or have fled there homes due to abuse and are now living in a hospice, shelter, hospital or nursing home. The foundation is called Warming up America and it was started by a woman by the name of Evie Rosen who thought of a way that she could help people less fortunate than herself by asking her customers, friends and community to help her project by knitting or crocheting seven by nine inch sections of material that could be joined together into afghan blankets.
Over the years this foundation has grown and produced around a quarter of a million afghan blankets for other charitable organizations.
