Apple today released the first beta of iOS 18.5 to developers for testing. The update brings a few minor changes and improvements as work on iOS 18 nears completion.

In the Mail app, users can now access the Contact and Group By Sender options directly from the interface by tapping the three dots icon.

These toggles were previously located in the Mail settings, making them harder to find. The Settings app includes a new banner under General > Warranty with the ‌AppleCare‌ logo. Users can learn more about their AppleCare coverage here.

Tapping on a device in the Apple Account section also reveals a new ‌AppleCare‌ option with plan details and management.

iOS gets language support upgrade

Apple typically releases the x.5 updates for iOS in May, usually during the second week.

iOS 18.5 is expected to follow this timeline and become available to the public next month.

The update also introduces support for more languages in Apple Intelligence, the company’s AI feature set previewed at WWDC 2024. French, German, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and Simplified Chinese are now supported.
