8 million members and supporters around the world. PETA focuses in the areas of the industry where the largest number of animals suffer for the longest periods of time. Those areas are on factory farms, in laboratories, in the clothing trade, and in the entertainment industry. What is more, they also work on other issues that include the cruel killing of beavers, birds and other “pests,” and the abuse of backyard dogs.
PETA works to give public education to people to avoid cruelty to animals of all species. Those works are made through, cruelty investigations, research, animal rescue, legislation, special events, protest campaigns and the celebrities involvement. Celebrity involvement made it more easier for PETA to make an impact on people.
