Exile Success

Path of Exile 2 launched on December 6 to massive success. The game became the 15th most-played game ever on Steam, with over 578,000 concurrent players at its peak. This puts it ahead of popular titles like Valheim, Call of Duty, and Terraria.

The game faced some initial server issues that prevented players from logging in. However, Grinding Gear Games, the New Zealand-based developer, quickly fixed these problems. This led to a rapid increase in the number of players on Steam.

While the exact player counts on Xbox and PlayStation are unknown, it’s possible that the total concurrent players across all platforms could have reached one million. Players have responded very positively to Path of Exile 2.

On Steam, 82% of the 26,800 user reviews are positive, giving the game a “very positive” rating overall. It has also become the top-selling game on Steam, surpassing Marvel Rivals. Path of Exile 2 is a sequel to the original action RPG.

It takes place years later in the world of Wraeclast. Players must fight against a spreading corruption. The game features six character classes, each with two Ascendancy Classes.

It supports both solo and co-op play for up to six players. The game is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Its successful launch cements its position as a major player in the action RPG genre.
