Path of Exile 2 early access launching December 6

Exile Access
Exile Access

Path of Exile 2 is set to launch in early access on December 6. The game will feature half of the planned campaign, with three out of the six acts available at launch. Players can expect to spend around 25 hours completing the initial content, which should take characters to about level 45.

To bridge the gap until the remaining acts are released, players will repeat the first three acts at a higher difficulty to reach level 65. This approach is similar to the early stages of the original Path of Exile. Six classes will be playable at launch, each with two of their planned three Ascendancies.

These include the Warrior, Monk, Mercenary, Sorceress, Witch, and Ranger. Each class starts at a specific point on a shared passive skill tree that has been enhanced with new nodes and specialized early upgrades. The early access release puts a strong emphasis on the endgame experience.

Path of Exile 2 early content

It features a redesigned Atlas system, which is an endless, randomly generated map where players explore pathways by placing Waystones. Popular league mechanics from the original game, such as Breach, Ritual, Delirium, and Expedition, will return with subtle enhancements to integrate them more seamlessly into the new framework.

Players can earn points for an Atlas passive tree, allowing for personal customization of the endgame. Boss maps and corrupted zones will offer variations in challenge and reward, with the potential for specialized focus like boss hunting if preferred. Throughout the game’s progression, players can undertake specific trials for Ascendancy points.

These include the Trial of the Sekhemas, which involves navigating a series of rooms while managing an ‘honor’ meter, and the Trialmaster’s Challenge, which consists of round-based tests such as wave survival and boss fights. Despite not having all classes and acts ready at launch, the development team is committed to delivering the remaining content as quickly as possible. The absence of the eagerly anticipated Druid class is noted, with promises to prioritize its addition post-launch.

Path of Exile 2 is poised to capture the attention of ARPG fans, stepping into a space left by titles like Diablo 4. With its thoughtful design changes and robust content offering from day one, PoE 2 is set to redefine expectations for the genre this holiday season.
