Hycku.com – Say How You Feel In Seven Words Only

Hycku.com“The attention span of people is going down the drain.” I hear that spoken a lot, and when I come across sites like Hycku I find myself agreeing with that, at least in part. I don’t know if I would indeed say that “things are going down the drain”, but I would never deny that the way in which people are becoming used to consume content is changing just too steeply. Some said as much when Twitter came along, of course, and that communicating using only 140 characters was too radical. Well, Hycku takes thing further down the road by making you communicate using only 7 words.

Yes, that’s right. On Hycku.com, you have to ask the question of “Whatz up?” in only 7 words. The site’s directly inspired by Japanese haiku, a poetical form that has people expressing the way they feel in just 17 words.

By its mere nature, Hycku is never going to be used as a massive communication tool. I think the site’s going down as a nice little experiment. And as a very good reminder that communication tools can only be taken so far before they stop being useful.

Hycku.com In Their Own Words

Hycku is a Nano-blogging service that helps you stay updated and connected with your friends and family by answering “Whatz up?” in just 7 words like a “haiku”.
