Samsung is preparing for its Unpacked event in January 2025, where the company is expected to unveil its flagship Galaxy S25 series. Leaked files have revealed that the S25 lineup may include a life-saving car crash detection feature. The leaked files show a feature called the Car Crash Detection Wakeup sensor in the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
This advanced sensor would collect data from multiple sensors on the phone to help users better understand potential accidents. While previous Samsung flagship models have included a car crash detection sensor, the feature has not yet been activated.

The presence of the sensor in older models suggests that Samsung has been working on this feature for some time.
Despite the inclusion of the sensor, the car crash detection feature is not currently available in any region. No user reports or resources confirm that the feature is live or accessible within the Settings app. This indicates that Samsung is still fine-tuning the feature before its official rollout.

Galaxy S25 Ultra detection technology
The Car Crash Detection sensor on Samsung devices is described as a composite sensor, a virtual sensor that processes and fuses data from underlying physical sensors. One UI builds as old as One UI 5.1.1 contain a hidden system app called “MoccaMobile” that includes code for initiating and halting the car crash sensor.
However, no user interface related to the car crash detection feature has been activated so far. It remains to be seen if Samsung will finally launch the car crash detection feature with the Galaxy S25 series. Since the sensor is already in place, buyers of the new flagship can be confident that the feature will likely become available in the future.
The introduction of this life-saving feature would align with Samsung’s commitment to enhanced safety solutions using cutting-edge technology. If implemented, the car crash detection feature could serve as a game-changer in emergency situations. As the launch date for the Galaxy S25 series approaches, more details about the upcoming lineup are expected to emerge.
Consumers and industry experts alike are eager to see the innovative features and major upgrades that Samsung has in store for its next flagship models.
