Friends of Animals is a non-profit, international animal advocacy organization, created in New York in 1957. They work to cultivate a respectful view of nonhuman animals, free-living and domestic.
Their goal is to free animals from cruelty and institutionalized exploitation around the world. The projects and services provided by this organization are fully supported by membership contributions, bequests, and grants. They inform members about animal advocacy issues and their progress in addressing them through their magazine named Act-ionLine, the website, and others reports. They try to encourage their members to get involved in their own communities as volunteer activists and as representatives of their projects.
