This site is rather straightforward: is the person’s talent hot or not (fame or lame)? Since the site started as a platform for musicians, there are currently only music auditions; but, the site hopes to expand into other talent areas as well. For each audition, viewers can vote is as fame or lame.
The Top 45 will be calculated weekly and is based on a weighted combination of the audition’s rating, how many times it has been viewed, and how many people have it on their favorites list, all over the past four weeks. This allows an audition to climb the charts as it gains support. An audition shall stay on top of the charts until such time as it loses support to other up-and-coming performers. Eventually, the start hopes to create a ‘Hall of FAME’ will be created showcasing those auditions that have made significant accomplishments or reached special milestones. You can put the auditions on your blog or MySpace profile, leave a comment, email it to a friend, or add it it to your favorites. So far, no one has “made it” from the site, but they hope one day that will change.

The site claims to want to be a launch pad for up-and-coming artists, but it seems to be making no effort to partner with those in Hollywood. They should consider contests and battles, and some connection with someone in the biz. They should also consider a big ad campaign around the person who stays on their Top 45 list to generate interest and buzz to their site. If they would like to encourage talent in other genres, they should categorize the talents.
