There are a gazillion software development companies offering their products in the internet, and thus the challenge is to come up with a site that is attractive enough to differentiate from the mass of competitors. It seems web developers/designers, who are well aware of that fact, can’t make it work to any profit, and CobaltPointe.
com is a good example of it: a beautifully designed site, you can only read about the products they are expert in building, which is not very enlightening when trying to showcase the capabilities of a suite for an inexpert audience who may very well have come from a search engine results page and thus be completely unaware of the kind of work the company does. Some demos pinpointing the strengths of past projects could be a perfect companion for the case-study texts which one can presently read from the site, and a portfolio-like library of links to websites they have worked with would also be of use. I wonder if they can think about it…
