BigHugeLabs.com has just made using Flickr a lot more interesting by capitalizing upon the site’s API.
If you’ve ever been somewhat unimpressed by the lack of features that the photo community has, you will probably be interested in scoping out the variety of cool Flickr tools and add-ons that BigHugeLabs has to offer. There are literally dozens of neat little toys, games, and utilities that you can install and play with. For example, there’s one program that allows you to create a magazine cover from a selected Flickr photo, another lets you create a motivational poster, and still another gives you access to huge amounts of user data (FlickrDNA). The tools aren’t restricted to just your photos, either, so you can tweak and repurpose any Flickr photo that you have access to.

The only question is, why didn’t Flickr offer all of these great options before? There are over 40 applications that BigHugeLabs features, so you’ll have a hard time wearing them all out, and by that time they’ll have added some more cool toys anyway (the site is updated constantly).
Some Questions About BigHugeLabs.com
It’s somewhat confusing as to what exactly goes on here; are all the services free? I couldn’t find any information about how much some of the features might costs (for example, ordering a print via the “Calendar” feature. It’s also unclear whether ordering of prtins is done through Flickr, BigHugeLabs, or a third party.
