Worried about the planet? There’s lots of things you can do to lead a more sustainable life, but if you can’t think of anyone right now, you can follow the link to this website and discover what to do to save energy, or ease the impact of your energy consumption. ASE is a non-profit association joined by a variety of relevant actors in the energy scene, including spokespeople from business, government, environmental and consumer areas, and thus the site is divided mainly in those sections, holding user-friendly information for each target group.
For instance, if you go to the consumer area, you’ll find tips and advice on what kind of maintenance you should do to your electric appliances, what light bulbs will help you keep you electric bill low and the planet happy, or what to do during the holiday season in terms of decoration and lighting, plus the spots from the TV and graphic ad campaigns are available at the site as well. The educator area also hosts tips to reduce school’s energy consumption, games, slides, links to other science-related sites for young audiences and activity sheets for children to reflect and work on the problem on efficient energy use. For elder or more technical audiences, including policy makers, the site provides a variety of white papers and research excerpts on suggested energy policies for government agencies; they learn about what local governments have been doing to reduce their consumption, and also read a wide variety of legal documents on the subject. Ase.org is also a great source of energy related information, as it presents highlights on its homepage, but also puts together a monthly newsletter of great interest to which you can subscribe for free via this site.
