AppBistro is the place where Facebook page administrators can quickly find applications they could (or even should) integrate into their pages, in a bid to increase the degree of engagement of their visitors.
That is, we could call this service an application marketplace for Facebook pages.
I frankly don’t think that using this service would be privative to companies of any specific size, although its streamlined approach may work best when it comes to small local businesses.
One of the best aspects of the whole initiative is that all of the applications that are already featured come from some big names in the scene. That is nothing surprising, really – the site was started by Ryan Merket, an ex-Facebook employee, and one who was actually heavily involved in the launch of the first Facebook Connect. One would assume he would have all the right contacts.
Eventually, developers on the whole will be capable of selling their own applications through the Appbistro marketplace. But that is coming with time. For now, login using you Facebook credentials and see what’s in stock already.
