AirlineMates is a social network for those in the airline industry. Stewards and stewardesses, pilots, co-pilots, and any other high flyers can use the site to keep in touch even while they’re on the go.
The network allows users to share their rosters, create and share photo galleries, create My Mates networks (aka friends), and message each other on site. Not only does each member get their own profile (what would a social network be without profiles, after all?), but each member gets to control who sees it and who doesn’t. Additionally, members will be instantly alerted when they have roster matches with their mates. There’s also a HomeXchange listing for users to list or search for places to stay. Why AirlineMates.com It Might Be A Killer
The site has latched on to a good idea. Airline industry employees are a roving, peripatetic bunch which makes a social network ideal for their lot. AirlineMates has added specific features—e.g. the roster notification and HomeXchange—for airline employees, making it more fit than other networks. It could work with time.

AirlineMates lacks that slick professional touch that all the big networks have. It looks crude. The feature set isn’t stellar. It still doesn’t have any outstanding draws for airline employees or anyone really. It needs work.
