Zestr.com – Catalog Books, Music, Movies, and Games

Zestr.comIf you’re anal about keeping all your favorite books, movies, games, and music organized, why not store all your collections in one spot so you can easily access them at the click of a mouse? That’s exactly what Zestr, a new online media organizing service, aims to let you do. With Zestr, you can store information about your music and book libraries, your DVDs, and your games by creating a personal profile page which displays all of this information for you in list form.

To add an item to the list, search for it in the Zestr database, enter in its relevant data (album title, ISBN#, producer, etc) about a particular item and attach a small thumbnail to allow for easy identification. You can also share your collection with other users and view their items as well. If you like what you see, you can add them to your friend list. Other cool features include automatic importing from your Delicious Library collection and multi-region functionality (Zestr connects to six different regions: the UK, USA, Canada, Germany, France and Japan) so you can access items and information relevant to where you are from). Site registration and all services are free.

Zestr.com In Their Own Words

“We’re all about the fun stuff here.

Words like cataloging and collecting have been given a lift out of the mundane and into the world of Internet-cool.

Zestr lets you share your books, movies, music and games with everybody: all through an interface that’ll keep you feeling zesty”.

Why Zestr.com It Might Be A Killer

Zestr.com is an attractive way of cataloguing your media and it makes it easy to share it with others. It’s also a good mechanism for discovering new music, books, films, etc, without having to visit a bunch of other sites to do so. It was definitely a good call to include a social networking aspect; checking out what other users enjoy and comparing it to your own taste is a great way to meet new people and get to know what other media is out there.

Some Questions About Zestr.com

Zestr.com leaves a lot of questions unanswered in relation to what users can and cannot do. Can a user upload their music, or must they enter in all the data manually? If it’s the latter, who would want to bother writing down data for a potentially huge library of songs? Is there a way that users could synch, say, their iTunes automatically? The site doesn’t really give many examples of how work their site with games or music, the demo really only shows movies and books, so it’s confusing as to how exactly this process works with the other two media offered.
