Xiaomi unveiled its 15 Series smartphones, including the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Ultra, on the eve of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The company touts them as “the ultimate professional imagery flagship” mobile photography and video devices. The 15 Ultra brings forward several features from its predecessor.
It retains the 50-megapixel Type 1 LYT-900 sensor with a Summilux lens and an f/1.63 aperture. Xiaomi claims improved low-light performance due to its ability to capture twice as much light as its predecessor. The camera setup includes a 50-megapixel main telephoto lens paired with a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens.

Xiaomi 15 Ultra camera features
Durability has been a focus, with Xiaomi claiming IP68 dust and water resistance, enhanced drop resistance, and Gorilla Glass 7i. The device sports a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a peak brightness of 3,200 nits and an upgraded ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite powers it, paired with 12/16GB of RAM and 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB storage options.
Xiaomi’s software suite continues to emphasize AI with HyperOS 2, which includes HyperAI editing features within the Gallery app. A new feature called HyperConnect aims to bridge the gap between devices and platforms, including iOS and Macs. The Xiaomi 15, the smaller and more affordable sibling of the 15 Ultra, shares many features with its counterpart.
It boasts Summilux lenses with an anti-reflective coating, Dolby Vision, and 4K recording at 60fps on the rear cameras. The Xiaomi 15 and 15 Ultra are priced at 999 Euros each and 1,499 Euros each. The Xiaomi 15 and 15 Ultra will receive four years of Android and six security updates.
Xiaomi also offers one free out-of-warranty repair and one screen replacement within 12 months after purchase. You won’t be able to find either of these phones from retailers in Canada or the U.S., but they can be purchased through online vendors that ship internationally.
