Twitter can be as useful or as pointless as people want it to be. In actuality, what is useful for one will be a waste of time for others.
And I am sure that few sites stand as a better example of that than the one I am reviewing right now.
It’s name is quite representative, and the way the site describes itself leaves no doubts about its role and intended public: it is said on the site that it will “help your bragging process” by automatically taking care of “tweeting your Xbox 360 achievements”.
The way the system works is quite easy on everybody, as the live.xbox profiles of users are scoured and any new achievement is posted to their Twitter accounts. That is possible because you (as a user) will have granted the system permission to do that at the beginning. Fortunately, OAuth is supported. You don’t need to disclose your Twitter credentials.
Having left my gaming days behind a long, long time I don’t see a lot of value on something like this, but I do understand younger players will relish the chance of letting his chums know about their most recent successes. That won’t turn the site into a monumental one in terms of visits any time soon, though.
