WorldReviewer.com – Get Bitten By the Travel Bug

WorldReviewer.comNeed some ideas for your next trip? Head to WorldReviewer.com, a UK-based travel site with a real community feel to it.

On WorldReviewer, you can search for trips using a variety of methods; by genre, tag, keyword, geographical location, or a huge list of a categories (You want your generic beautiful coastline? They’ve got it. You want to be where a famous movie was filmed? Yup, they’ve got that too. Ghost hunting? Not even joking, it’s there). Use the handy map tool to see where exactly your destination is located, and see what else is nearby that users have submitted reviews of. Being a user-generated community, WorldReviewer also lets you submit your own reviews of the places you’ve been to and the experiences you’ve had there, which you can append with photos and videos. WorldReviewer also has a social element; you can build your personal profile which automatically includes any reviews you’ve submitted. If you really don’t know where to begin, check out WorldReviewer’s “Inspire Me” section for some great recommendations and ideas.

WorldReviewer.com In Their Own Words

“Agonising over your next holiday? Feel like trying something different? Choosing your next holiday is one of the more important decisions you’ll make this year. Time is precious – not to mention the cost – and you want to get it right. World Reviewer is all about helping you make the right holiday choice – as well as giving you the chance to help others”.

Why WorldReviewer.com It Might Be A Killer

WorldReviewer is a great travel resource, especially considering it was just launched a few days ago; they made a good move by acquiring a lot of content and reviews before going public. There are so many different ways to discover your next destination; even the most obscure destinations and activities are included on this site.

Some Questions About WorldReviewer.com

One thing that’s notably absent here is more information about how to arrive and find accommodations at a given destination; does World Reviewer plan on adding these features for members once they’ve decided where their next trip will be? Also, expanding the personal profiles to include contact info would help solidify a community feel, especially if one member wishes to contact another member regarding a place of mutual interest. Lastly, I believe a lot of the photos are pulled automatically by a bot which scans tags on photo-sharing sites like Flickr. While this is certainly more efficient than relying solely on manually submitted photos, it does lend an element of inaccuracy; for Rio de Janeiro alone I saw three photos that were most certainly not shots of what WorldReviewer claims they are.
