Wayki, or “the World As You Know It”, was designed to be a message board for people from all over the world. You can post pictures, place markers, and messages all over the Google World map and look and comment on the postings of others.
It´s like looking at a poster of the map of the world with thumbtacks in it holding little notes and pictures that everyone can add to and comment on. A cool thing you can do with the site is use it to show people where the location of whatever you´re describing is by bookmarking a spot on the map and then getting the link to that spot´s location, so that everyone can see the same map you´re looking at. You can embed this into sites as well. Something that makes it easy to browse through is the menu. The menu lists countries and areas so that you can go directly to that spot, instead of having to zoom in and out and fumble around the map on your own. The menu also lets you see the most recent postings, so that you can always keep up-to-date on what users are marking as important.
Wayki.com In Their Own Words
“Wayki is a free service that you can use to create links to locations on a map so that you can easily share them with others.
Why Wayki.com It Might Be A Killer
It´s incredibly simple to use, and the small menu at the top of the page with all of the “Goto” places and most recent postings are really helpful and easy to view what´s going on on the map without getting overwhelmed. The clean interface and the ability to add a bunch of photos and then have others comment on them, and not just have one picture per marker is nice as well. People will enjoy being able to show where a restaurant or a party is just by sending a link to the flag on the map.
Some Questions About Wayki.com
How will they compete with Plazes and Flagr? Besides being very clean and easy to use, what advantages do they have over the other sites? How will they market themselves and how are they intending on profiting from the site, because it doesn´t look like there´s any advertising and it´s free to use.
