Finding the right college takes time. It also requires money.
Each application requires a separate essay, recommendations, and a fee of $25 or more which is why many times applicants focus on a few well known schools. Usphere aims to change that. You fill out one application for $65; 33 schools and counting can access that app. If a school likes what they see they´ll email you an acceptance letter with the sticker price to show your parents. Usphere´s apps give students to customize their profiles with info about what kind of school you want to attend, distance from home, size, degree types and religious affiliation. You can upload transcripts, letters of recommendation, etc. Usphere also has a set of college research tools available; Collegefinder helps you do research on schools you´re interestedin; College Planner lets you save information on all your preferred schools; and there´s even a mobile notification device. Students can sign up for a U Advisor for $10 a month.

The site doesn´t advertise exactly what schools the app is good for—most likely these are little known schools that need the extra applicants. Of course big names schools aren´t included, which may deter many students. There are already common apps used for a number of schools, well known schools all over the country.
