The Union of Concerned Scientists is a non-profit organization which aims to develop a healthy environment and a safer world. The UCS combines: independent scientific research and citizen action, in order to develop sensible solutions and secure responsible changes with the government, practices, and costumers.
The UCS currently has more than 200,000 members, who are either scientists or citizens. Ucsaction.org is the UCS action center. Here, you can communicate with people who are making important decision for our planet. What will you find exactly at the website? Under the title “Take Action” you will be able take action in a current urgent issue. For example, you will be able to send a letter to the senate, urging them to approve the climate bill –on global warming. In addition, you can also subscribe in order to receive news, resources, and action alerts. As it is a non-profit organization, they also receive donations which can be done through their website too. Finally, you will find current campaigns and messages from the UCS.
