The French startup Gladia has launched Solaria, a next-generation AI model designed for real-time multilingual speech-to-text transcription. Solaria aims to help businesses overcome language barriers and improve global customer interactions with industry-leading speech recognition capabilities. According to a 2023 market report, 49% of executives experienced financial losses due to language barriers.

Solaria offers a solution by delivering an average word accuracy rate of 94% for languages such as English, Spanish, and French. The model’s response time is just 270 milliseconds, comparable to the latency of popular virtual assistants like Siri or Google Assistant. Gladia’s co-founder and CEO, Jean-Louis Quéguiner, emphasized the importance of speech for natural connection and stated that Solaria represents a significant breakthrough in AI-powered voice technology.

Launching Solaria for global interactions

Solaria supports 42 languages, including underserved ones like Tagalog, Bengali, and Maori. It can adapt to industry-specific terminology, understanding complex jargon in fields like medicine and finance.

The model also performs reliably in noisy environments, making it suitable for busy call centers. Gladia has partnered with an open-source developer framework for real-time AI voice agents, enabling developers to build multilingual applications using Gladia’s API. Since launching its first transcription and audio intelligence API in 2023, Gladia has attracted over 700 customers globally, including notable firms like Attention Inc., Circleback Inc., and Sana Labs AB.

With Solaria, Gladia aims to drive efficiency and enhance customer experiences across diverse languages and markets, opening new opportunities for businesses worldwide.
