Ubisoft has canceled its press previews for the upcoming game Assassin’s Creed Shadows and announced it will no longer participate in the Tokyo Game Show, citing “various circumstances” for both cancellations. The press previews were set to take place today, September 26, with an embargo date to be announced. The game’s official release date is still November 12, 2024, but these recent developments have led to speculation about a possible delay.

In a statement about the Tokyo Game Show, Ubisoft said, “We regret to inform you that due to various circumstances, we have decided to cancel our online participation in Tokyo Game Show 2024, which was scheduled to start at 3:00 PM on September 26th. We apologize for the short notice.

“We sincerely apologize to everyone who was looking forward to the broadcast.” The company confirmed its ongoing giveaway campaign will continue as planned. The cancellations may raise concerns among fans about the state of “Assassin’s Creed Shadows.” Industry watchers will be keen to see if these changes indicate deeper issues or potential delays for the highly anticipated game, which has been in development since 2020.

Its current release date suggests that any significant changes or delays at this stage would be unusual. Fans and analysts will be watching closely for more updates from Ubisoft.

I just received the information that “Assassin’s Creed Shadows” has been delayed to February 14, 2025. I guess they think releasing it on Valentine’s Day will make us feel better.
