Do we need more search engines? It seems we do, as new ones keep on coming along at a steady rate. I think that is the consequence of the boom of information that Twitter brought along with it, as the actual content which was searchable went trough the roof in terms of quantity and diversity.
That is something which this new search portal takes into consideration, as it will let you look up Twitter results at the same time that you scour a plethora of other sites such as Flickr, YouTube and virtually every other social haunt of the hour.
Of course, both Google and Yahoo are taken into account when you execute any search so that (in theory) you have the best of the search world coupled with every other social site that should matter. Bing is conspicuous by its absence, though. And I also failed to notice the presence of a bookmarklet.
At the end of the day, sites like this one are prone to keep on surfacing in the same way that URL shorteners keep doing: at a steady rate. They accommodate a real need within the new, dynamic WWW that we are getting more and more accustomed to each day.
