A service that goes by a suitable name, TweetBackup is presented by Mr. Jonas Lejon and his team.
The objective of this project is to let you restore both your posts and friends should the worst happen to your account.
The backup process itself is carried out on a daily basis, and there is no installation required on your part. Furthermore, there is no need to supply your Twitter password to get started. The one requisite is following the team at @tweetbackup.
This service has some limitations, though. The most notable one is that due to a Twitter bug only 3,200 posts can be archived. That is a respectable number, but it can eventually cause trouble for heavy-hitters. A solution should be devised if Tweet Backup is to stand on its own.
Still, if your life revolves more and more around Twitter and you wish there were a way of keeping your valuable information somehow covered, this site will suit you fine for the time being. It will be interesting to see how it will eventually shape up.
