Taptu is a “mini” music search app for “mini” spaces, such as your mobile device or your Facebook page. If that sounds odd, don’t worry.
All Taptu means is that it is a service within a service (an app among the Facebook community or a search bar on your mobile phone). Currently, you can get Taptu’s Facebook app, which lets you decorate your profile with album art, videos, images and lyrics and search for music in Taptu’s 10 million song database. You can also comment on the music you’re listening to so that your friends and networks can gain insight into your musical choices. The mobile app, which you can obtain for free, simply requires your phone number. Taptu will then send you a link. The mobile app appears similar to the Facebook app; you can search for songs, artists, videos, etc.

Why Taptu.com It Might Be A Killer
According to Facebook users writing on the wall for Taptu’s app, Taptu is less complex and therefore easier to use than iLike. I checked out the mobile service and it worked even though my mobile number is international (sometimes when I test out such services the text message never arrives).
Some Questions About Taptu.com
Well, Taptu doesn’t really do a great job explaining what exactly it is that their mobile service does. From scouring the website you get a good idea of the Facebook app’s purpose and abilities, and of course you can check out Taptu’s page on Facebook to gain further insight, but this section is noteably absent for Taptu’s mobile app. Taptu claims the search currently works for “music” and “factfinding” best, but I find these terms a little vague; what can one do with the results of each search? What other features will the search be offering in the future?
