The Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) is fostering innovation and supporting the tech startup ecosystem in India through its Centres of Entrepreneurship (CoEs). These CoEs focus on emerging technologies and promote collaboration between industry, government, and academia. The CoEs provide crucial resources such as mentorship, technical support, lab infrastructure, and market access.
This enables startups to develop solutions using technologies like AI, ML, Blockchain, AR-VR, Deep Tech, and Industry 4.0. The impact has been significant, with 665 startups supported, 707 new products created, and 399 IPR filings. Notable examples of STPI CoEs include STPI NEURON in Mohali, which leads advancements in AI and IoT solutions, and the MedTech CoE in Lucknow, which develops affordable medical electronics and supports startups creating portable diagnostic devices and remote patient monitoring systems. STPI AIC STPINEXT in Bengaluru nurtures innovation in healthcare, IoT, and e-commerce, while STPI Fasal in Akola empowers Agri-tech startups with IoT-enabled devices to optimize farming processes.
Nurturing India’s tech talent
STPI FinBlue in Chennai and STPI FinGlobe in Gandhinagar cultivate AI and Blockchain-driven financial tools, and STPI Apiary in Gurugram focuses on blockchain innovations in finance and supply chain management. Other significant CoEs like STPI IoT OpenLab in Bengaluru and STPI Kalpataru in Visakhapatnam drive advancements in IoT and Industry 4.0 technologies.
Hyderabad’s STPI IMAGE CoE, in collaboration with the Government of Telangana, nurtures startups in gaming, VFX, and AR/VR. Each CoE contributes to India’s evolving technological landscape, offering the necessary infrastructure, mentorship, and funding for startups to innovate and scale. STPI is strategically positioned to democratize entrepreneurship and nurture local talent by expanding its CoEs into Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities.
