We can all name the 50 states in the United States. Most likely, we can all name the capitals for every state, too.
But, how well do you know the state symbols of our illustrious 50 states? If you are like most people, you probably do not know too much about each state’s very diverse set of state symbols. Statesymbolsusa.org is a web site where each one of the 50 states’ symbols are identified and profiled. You can learn about the state bird, state reptile, or even the state insect for any state of your choice. For the class project that requires an extensive amount of research into a state’s history and culture, this site could almost guarantee you an A. And, the site also contains some information on some National symbols of importance too. For example, the Bald Eagle, the national bird, is given a section of its own dedicated to this wonderful and inspiring creature.
