Storytelling is an ancestral practice that even after all the technological developments that we have witnessed still stands a ground of its own. Always will.
The best stories are undoubtedly the ones that leave the listener with a better moral understanding about the world and his part in the grand scheme of things. The resource under review right now gathers together such stories for everybody to read, listen to and even watch. That is something very important, as little ones might not have the patience to read a story off the screen, but they will understandably be far more partial to watching it unfold before their eyes.
The stories themselves fall into several categories. By way of example, these include “Educational Stories”, “Parent-child Stories”, “Life Stories” and “General Stories”. And a category entitled “Love Stories” is obviously included, and it is one of the categories that sees the most updates.
Notwithstanding the different categories on offer, most of the featured stories are true fables. That is, fictional tales from which a moral conclusion is drawn. Some were quite reminiscent of the works of Kahlil Gibran to me. I would say the site is intended for people of all ages, and I recommend it as a way of engaging the mind and nurturing the soul.
SpokenStories.org In Their Own Words
“Did you know that LIFE is a dream and a vision, to be explained by STORIES? Our lives have three stages – past, present and future. The past and the future are dreams that exist in our minds in the form of events(stories) that took place and events(stories) that will take place, respectively. The present is the vision stage. We see things live and record, and recall them for future references in the form of stories.
The only way we can paint our lives in vivid colors is through stories. Thus STORIES are full of human vicissitudes, and therefore deservedly appealed to us.
We have one short-term-goal, one mid-term plan and one lifelong mission: MAXIMIZE HUMAN CAPABILITIES through nature-made stories and poems, before we maximize profits for our owners.”
