What would a book that is written by people from every corner of the world a chapter at a time look like? That is the one question this new social resource is here to answer. On SoopBook, anybody can start a social book (IE, a title that is built collaboratively), and contribute to the ones others have created. All genres are accounted for – thriller, romance, horror… – and the whole site can be used without having to pay a thing.
The process in which these social books are assembled is always the same – someone sets everything in motion by submitting the title of the book and its first chapter, and then other people can start providing their own input until the full story has been told.
It is easy to criticize such an idea on grounds of quality, but even those who look askance at such a literary approach have to admit that something which encourages people to use their imagination so much (and writers to begin bonding with each other in such a genial setting) is worthy of more than a passing glance.
