What do you get when you do email without email addresses and Twitter without the cool factor? You get Shorttext.com.
This service allows you to share, you guessed it, short text messages with your friends.
Now, I’m not always the most positive person, but come on! Where’s the use in this? If you need to send a long message to your friends, you can email them (email is far from dead), use Facebook, etc. If you want to share short messages, you can use Twitter or any other one of the hundreds of clones.
In the upside, you can link images or videos within your message, allowing you to send richer messages than you would through Twitter. Still, there’s something missing from this service to make it truly useful. It could be used as a novelty a couple of times, but there’s nothing here to keep you coming back for more.

Why ShortText.com It Might Be A Killer
If they get past making it a novelty service, it could fill the niche between email and twitter.
