A site devoted to paying tribute to pets of all denomination, Rainbows Bridge lets the user create a virtual memorial home for the departed companion. The user enters the pet as a Rainbow Resident, and from that point onwards becomes the guardian of said residency.
As a guardian, it is possible to change the flowers and shrubbery, the season of the residency, and leave new toys and treats. There is a list of all Rainbow Residents that can be displayed, and visitors may search for a particular pet they wish to visit. The site features a Pet Loss Grief Support Center made up of a forum and a chat room, which have been put together for emotional healing. Pet Loss Grief Hotline numbers are also provided. Every Monday evening at 10 PM a special ceremony is held; a pet can be added to said ceremony by entering its name and a picture. There are links to pet shops online, as well as links that direct to pet poems and stories. Those wishing to become volunteers and help others at the chat room and message boards can do so. A portion of all purchases made at Rainbows Bridge is donated to random animal shelters.
