One would think that checking in is the simplest (and most innocuous) thing in the world, but the number of services and apps that offer alternative ways for making your location readily available just make it clear that some find such a process terribly tedious.
QRMeHere is one such service.
The whole shebang here is to let the owners of venues add a big QR where it can be seen by every customer who walks in, such as next to the doorway. This QR code can then be scanned using the phone’s camera, and upon doing so the person would be effectively checking in.
It doesn’t get more time-economic than this. And the owners of the venues can actually add messages to the QR codes along the lines of “I’m Having A Drink At Mark’s, The Best New Bar In NYC”. This means that people who scan them end up promoting the actual venue. It wouldn’t take long to dream up a witty marketing campaign and put it together like this.

“Buzz marketing for clubs, bars and pubs.”
Why QRMeHere.com It Might Be A Killer
It makes it even easier to check in wherever you are, and the fact that messages can be attached to these QR codes makes for some quick (and easy) promotion.
