The Seattle based site Protolize has geared itself as a hub for designers and developers to collaborate and compile a list of all the best tools. Users can submit new tools by filling out a short form, including a description and the URL.
All items are reviewed before they are posted. Once a new tool makes its way on to Protolize, registered users can write reviews and vote. There are nine main categories, e.g., CSS, Javascript, PHP, Ruby and Flash. Top Rated tools are given their own section. The site has a very clean and crisp interface which will definitely appeal to most designers. So far, it lays claim to a fairly extensive list, although it still has room to grow.
