PrayAbout.com – Submit Prayers to Group

PrayAbout.comPrayAbout.com offers a place for people to submit their prayers.

It is nondenominational, so it doesn’t matter what religion you are, and the community involved seems genuinely interested and committed to the power of a group prayer. The community can respond to a prayer, and they do. I would imagine this helps the person praying to feel supported and loved, even if it is coming from strangers. The community can also “light candles” around those prayers they feel are the most urgent. The site is not for everyone, but for those that believe in prayer and need some help or would like to help others – this site is the place to go.

PrayAbout.com In Their Own Words

PrayAbout is a place where people make prayer requests online. Christian prayer, Islamic prayer, Jewish prayer – it doesn’t matter. Thousands join with you in prayer, no matter what you’re praying about today. Feel the love and support of people world-wide as you pray for healing, love, peace, children…anything that you want to make a request for.
We are a non-denominational prayer service ministry that welcomes people of all faiths. No matter what our different beliefs might be, we feel that anyone can benefit from knowing that other people are joining them in asking God.
Prayer candlesPrayAbout has a unique system to enable the community to highlight prayer requests. While we feel like every person deserves to be seen by the community online, sometimes there are prayer requests that simply demand to be seen by as many people as possible. To highlight these special supplications, we light candles.

Why PrayAbout.com It Might Be A Killer

Our country is religious, with over 90% believing in God. Given that this site welcomes prayers from all faiths and that many people believe there is healing power in group prayer, this site seems noteworthy and worthwhile. I liked the layout and design of the site, as it was easy to figure out how to submit and respond to a prayer. And despite my tendency towards cynicism, I believe this site serves an important and valuable service for many people.

Some Questions About PrayAbout.com

I hate to ask such a question given the content of this site, but how does this site make money? Or is it just funded by those who want to do a good thing (they do say they are a prayer service ministry….but who are they exactly)? Is this site international? Is it easy for people to find this site online? Have they considered connecting/linking to other useful social service websites, in case people need further assistance and information (i.e., Alcoholics Anonymous)? PrayAbout.com
