Not exactly sure how useful you’ll find this service, but it’s original-enough to merit a mention. If you’re a webmaster, PageScroller lets you give your visitors a new way to browse through your content. This Javascript page scroller adds two big buttons to the side of your site, letting people click on them to go up and down. These buttons are meant to replace the browser’s vertical bar that serves the same purpose. And they do, as they’re big and easy to spot at all times. They don’t, however, replace your mouse’s scroll button. Which brings me to my main gripe, don’t people always use that to scroll through sites? Will they ever bother clicking on some onscreen buttons to do the same? And there’s not such a thing as a modern mouse without a scroll button. These have become standardized by now.
Yet, it must be mentioned that PageScroller also lets you add a full navigation interface to your site, and split it into as many different sections as you want. The easy way in which you can do it is certainly praiseworthy, and that’s the one aspect of PageScroller I think would make a stronger impact on most users.
