Most of us have a dazzling (or rather dizzying?) array of usernames on sites like Flickr, Gmail, Del.icio.
us, AIM, MySpace, Yahoo, YouTube, etc. For whatever reason, we have different online identities. This is fine, except when you can’t remember which username you used for which site. Or, when your friends get confused about which username to use for each site. This confusion is even possible in Gmail, for example, which pulls up emails if you start typing in letters…but often I don’t remember even the beginning letters of my friend’s usernames and the mad hunt begins. onXiam aims to help you avoid that mayhem by offering you a place to store all your usernames. You simply register here, input your different usernames for different sites, and then let your friends and family pull up your onXiam site to find all your online identities. If you want to keep some identities private, you can choose that option on your onXiam site.
onXiam.com In Their Own Words
“If you are tired of having to tell people over and over “on [website] I am [name]” then you should sign up.
If you really like the photos that one person posts on flickr and you wonder what else that person does online (blogs, gaming, Second Life, etc), you should search for them. If they have signed up on onXiam, then you will discover their other online identities.
If you want to easily promote all of your online identities and increase your blog readership, flickr views, MySpace friends and all of that stuff, this could help you to do it. No guarantees, but it could help.”
Why onXiam.com It Might Be A Killer
While I try to use the same username for most of my online identities, I do have different identities. And I couldn’t tell you for the life of me what they are. This site is clever and useful, and allows a forgetful person like me to place all my identities in one central location as well as inform my family and friends of my addresses. This is also a great way to direct people to your different websites, blogs, photos, etc.
Some Questions About onXiam.com
I know they do not store passwords on this site, but have they considered that option? I will join the site that allows me to store all my passwords in one central, super secure location. I noticed there are about 400 people registered to use these services under each platform, when there could be thousands. How is this site being promoted? Also, how is this site hoping to make a profit, as I did not even see Google ads?
