This is an incipient social news aggregator that aims to bring citizen journalism to the forefront. Such a form of journalism is being touted by many as the natural successor to the platforms we know nowadays.
That stance holds it own, with mobile phones having better and better quality cameras and Internet connections getting faster. Citizen journalists can and will become just as important as professional journalists. Just think back to the 2009 Iranian election demonstrations – the Iranian regime canceled all privileges that the foreign media had, while the State-run news channels either reported propaganda or never talked about the matter that rocked a nation. During this time the only way people accessed the news was through social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter, and while news channels like CNN were trying to gather news about this topic they found it quite hard because the information was so scattered.
As a result, this site (and the many others like it) let people “tell the news” and stay fully abreast of any major development. Some categories so far include “Tech”, “World News”, “Economy” and “Politics”. See if you can make a contribution of your own to any of these using the “submit” feature.
