944 magazine is renown for showcasing photos and gossip from the hippest nightspots and parties in seven hot cities: San Diego, Los Angeles, Orange County, Phoenix, Las Vegas, Miami and New York City. With this MySpace-esque site, they hope to create new networks of friends and fellow clubbers. Predictably, users can create their own profile, upload their own videos and photos of their nights out, write their own blogs, view the photos and videos from the parties online, and find out where the next hot party is. They also feature a celebrity news channel on the home page. If you are from one of those aforementioned cities and you like to – as they say – “party like a rock star,” this could be a fun site for you. I have seen 944 Magazine and I have watched my 20-something friends devour the pages to see if their friends or – better yet – they have been photographed and featured like the wannabe celebrities that they are. It was a natural evolution for this magazine to create its own social networking site and I have no doubt it will be source of great fun and entertainment for many 20-somethings in these popular cities.
