Except now there’s Skitch, an elegant and versatile editing tool which proves to be much more capable than many in its field. With skitch you can easily grab images, snap websites, create screenshots. It also has sketching capabilities and notation tools; you can annotate with circles and arrows, add clear text, scribble, jot, and resize anything you need. Skitch is a desktop application but it comes with an online account for sharing and storage. It accepts most file formats. Images uploaded to your Skitch account can be viewed and commented on by others; images can be embedded into your personal website or blog; and your pics can be hotlinked. Skitch integrates with iSight and iPhoto. Currently it’s Mac only but a Windows version is in the works. You’ll have to get an invite to see it in action.
