Movie DNA is a brand-new iPhone app that will have those people who are always checking sites like the Internet Movie Database ecstatic. In principle, this app will let them learn all there is to learn about any movie – the name of the director, the name of the stars and the supporting cast, miscellanea such as shooting location… All that information can be procured along with multimedia content such as full trailers and images.
But the one defining feature (and the one after which the site is named, after all) is that each movie receives a unique rating that is arrived at by aggregating the scores that are given on leading Internet resources like IMdB and Rotten Tomatoes. This score is called “the DNA score of a movie”, and a ranking that brings the Top 100 movies with the highest DNA is provided for easier reference.
Additionally, this app will let you see what is being said on Twitter about any movie or actor that you like and follow movie twitterers directly.
You can download a free version of Movie DNA through the site. This version comes with some ads at the bottom, and if you want them removed you can upgrade to the paid version. That is the version that has support for Twitter, too.
