Mosuki.com – Never Miss A Great Event Again

Mosuki.comIf you easily tire of hunting around the net to find the latest and greatest events, why not invest in a service that delivers events to your digital doorstep? Mosuki is a social network, of sorts, for the more passive socialite (not necessarily a contradiction-in-terms, apparently). Mosuki bases its service on the fact that it’s tiresome and often fruitless to aimlessly browse events on the net that may be uninteresting to you; instead, they muse, why not let your friends tell you about cool happenings online? To get started, sign up and invite your friends to join as well to build up your Mosuki network.

When you click on the “Events” icon, you’ll see list of events which your friends are planning to attend, complete with all the who, what, where, and when info. When you find an event you like, simply click to add it to your personal calendar (which has daily, weekly, monthly, and list views. You also have the option of having Mosuki deliver event reminders to your inbox, and/or inform you of new events listed by your friends. Naturally, you can create your own events and publish them with varying levels of privacy (everyone, only your network, etc). You can invite people to your events, or even to the events of others via email if said invitee is a non-member, or simply with the “Add Mosuki Members” button if they’re a registered user. Each event has its own discussion forum where attendees can shoot the breeze about whose turn it is to bring the beer, who’s in charge of picking up the tickets, etc. The site is free to use.

Mosuki.com In Their Own Words

“Mosuki is the best way to hear about events from people you know!
Tired of missing great events you heard about too late? Not enough free time to read event lists and search event websites? Mosuki tells you about the events you don’t want to miss, without making you spend the time to find them.
Mosuki makes event discovery a passive process. People no longer need to read arbitrary event listings, do web searches, or pester their peers for plans. Through its website and email, Mosuki tracks events in its social networks and informs its users about events they personally don’t want to miss”.

Why Mosuki.com It Might Be A Killer

Mosuki offers a breadth of useful resources for the party-goer or party-thrower. It’s easy to communicate with your friends about everything from what events you’ll attend to who has to do what in terms of preparation. The calendars lay out your commitments for you and Mosuki will remind you of what you’ve got coming up, as well as what new events might interest you. Best of all, you can use your own calendar app if you prefer; Mosuki can deliver calendar RSS feeds to iCal, Outlook, and a few other scheduling programs.

Some Questions About Mosuki.com

While this service is well thought-out and organizationally well-executed, I’m not sure if Mosuki is entirely indispensable, especially if you’re already part of a social network and have established all your connections on that site; for example, it may be easier to take advantage of Facebook’s Events app rather than start from scratch on an entirely new site.
