Remember mixtapes? You could break out your blank cassette tap and record your favorite tunes from the radio or even cd’s if you had the money to buy them. You’d make tapes for your friends and lovers and ship to your pen pal in Cameroon.
You’d exchange tapes. Wear them out. Those were the good old days, weren’t they? Well, now the mixtape has grown up. First there rewritable cds, then we had various forms of mp3 players, the iPod. Finally, we have the Web 2.0. version of the mixtape, called appropriately enough, MixWit. MixWit is part iTunes and part Slide. You can create your own mix of music and share it on Facebook, MySpace, Blogger, Bebo, et al. Your creations are also posted on MixWit for the whole world to hear. Start by searching for music using the MP3 search engine Seeqpod, then add a style (cassette tape skin), and share it. It’s that easy.
