Minus.com – Really Easy File Sharing

Minus.comWhat would the simplest service for file sharing ever look like? Which features would it have? How would it be operated? If you ask me, I would tell you that all these answers can be found by giving this new service a try. It streamlines the way in which files can be shared and makes everything stand so simple that even my grandpa could do it. No kidding.

In essence, Minus reduces file sharing to dragging what one wants to have shared into his browser window. That will be it. The user will get a short URL where the files will be hosted, and by spreading this around (via email, or through his social services of choice) he is letting everybody get what he has shared. And if he is using Minus to upload pictures, then he can have the resulting gallery embedded wherever he wants.

Of course, both desktop and mobile apps are provided for people who want to exert a little more control over what they are sharing and how they are sharing it, but there’s no need for users to get them in order to share anything.

Photos, music, videos, files and documents of just every type can be shared using Minus. And something that I really like about the whole service is how community-centric it is. Users can follow each other around, and also create collaborative galleries with little effort and fuss.
