The LyngSat website is made up of satellite information that consists of standardized footprint maps for more than six hundred satellite beams all over the world. The site is split into four main sections, to wit “160º W-73ºE”, “73ºE-0ºE”, “0ºW-61ºW” and “61ºW-160ºW”.
As any cartographer will tell you, these codes correspond to different geographical areas: Asia, Europe, the Atlantic and America. Upon clicking on one of these links, the individual is presented with a comprehensive frequency chart, highlighting channel names and video encryption along with the frequency type. Another feature that is worth mentioning is that the site employs the IP number of the user to produce a list of the top ten satellite choices made by people who reside in the same part of the world. Information on how to advertise on LyngSat is provided, and the rates are concisely set down in the pertinent section of the site.
