Services like Lokus make traveling the world a real pleasure. Currently in open beta, Lokus lets any person who has been to a place share his experience with everybody else, by contributing to a database of reviews and guides for places all over the world. If you’ve been somewhere that’s left a mark on you either for all the right or all the wrong reasons, then you can have the experience relived here. You can tell everybody why that place you chose to have a long-awaited holiday at was a disappointment, or why it was something to write home about. And provided you keep everything within reasonable limits (IE, no inappropriate language) then your review will be posted on the site for other users to read, and take into account before packing their bags and heading to the airport.
Of course, locals can also contribute to this database. They can review these places they’ve known all their lives, and tell foreigners why visiting them would be something they’d treasure for ever and ever.
