LocalHikes.com delivers a huge database and list of information on local hiking opportunities close to small and large metropolitan areas in the USA.
You can find all kinds of hiking trails by selecting the location area to check for available hikes. There is also a search engine box located at the top left where you can submit your city or zip code area number to find the trails closest to your home or office. All the hikes featuring on the database were contributed by volunteer local hikes reporters from all over the USA. At the top menu you have three main sections, home, search and reporter. You can become a reporter, browse for reporters or go to the Hike reporter central. In addition, you can search hikes by location or by content.
