Do you desire to share your video/book/music collection with friends and family? The world? Lib.rario.
us aims to let you catalog your favorite things, and then share and publish as you see fit. I guess. I mean, I would like to describe more about the functionality of this site, but there is no more written on the site to find out. That doesn’t seem right. If I have one huge pet peeve it is when sites offer a product or service, but then neglect to describe that product/service (at least in some sort of professional manner). How does the site hope to draw people to the site if they don’t explain the site upfront? Do they really think people will register with the site and then find out about its functions? Needless to say, I’m greatly disappointed with this site and don’t feel capable of giving it a proper review.
Lib.rario.us In Their Own Words
In case you couldn’t (or wouldn’t) figure out what we do, we are here to provide the masses (but mostly ourselves) a place to catalog our media collection, whether it be books, DVDs, CDs… This allows you greater flexibility with your collection.
And we’re more than just that. We’re providing a place for the packrats to commune and orate.
Why Lib.rario.us It Might Be A Killer
Sharing and publishing personal preferences on almost any subject is a fundamental element of social networking profiles, and social networking is still in its infancy. If this site is adding some functionality to disclosing and distrubuting personal information in the social networking world, this site has great potential (but I still don’t exactly know what this site hopes to do or what it does).
Some Questions About Lib.rario.us
Why is this site written with tongue-planted-so-firmly-in-cheek? Why is there no real description or explanation of the site’s purpose and use? Does this site have a widget to embed in social networking profiles? Is it just for viewing here on this site? What is the long-term goal of this site? How do they hope to make a profit? And perhaps most pointed of all, why do they ask for donations without taking the time to explain why the site is a worthwhile invention, or charity case?
Updates
From what I can gather, the ‘donate’ button is a new feature on the site.
